Join us for worship this Sunday, November 29, 2009, as we celebrate the First Sunday Of Advent and the start of a new year in the liturgical life of the church.
As the four Sundays of Advent lead us to Christmas, we begin the journey with the account of Elizabeth and Zechariah – the parents of John the Baptist – found in the Gospel of Luke. Framed at a time of darkness and oppression in the lives of the people of Israel, this story is one of hope and anticipation.
As we examine a story of hope, we are reminded that December 1st is World AIDS Day, a time to remember that many around the globe look to us for hope when all seems hopeless. We will take a special offering to support the work of the Global AIDS Fund in recognition of World AIDS Day.
Join us at 6:00 p.m. at the Driscoll Center on Bancroft Street at University Hills Boulevard in Toledo this Sunday. Come early for fair-trade tea, coffee and cocoa and stay after as we gather at a local restaurant to continue the conversation at our Afterglow! We look forward to seeing you.
