Getting involved with the life of the community means taking a chance and plunging in! What are your unique gifts and talents and how could you use them to help bring about the future that Jesus described as “the Kingdom of God”? Jesus spoke of feeding the hungry, caring for those who cannot care for themselves and acting on behalf of the oppressed.
At The University Church we see ourselves as a community with a conscience. If we speak about feeding the hungry then that had better be reflected in our actions – and it is. When we talk about caring for those who cannot care for themselves, those hadn’t better be just empty words – and they are not. When we are outraged by oppression in the world, we expect that outrage to be turned into action – and it is.
