Julian is the founding pastor of The University Church. He is a United Methodist elder in the West Ohio Conference of The United Methodist Church and has primary responsibility for ordering the life of the church, preaching and teaching, offering the sacraments, and mobilizing the church community in service to the neighborhood, the country and the world. Julian is married to Mary Kay Smith, a psychiatrist and faculty member at The University of Toledo, and has two children, Joshua, a junior at The Ohio State University, and Anna, a junior at St. Ursula Academy. Patty serves the church as Ministry Associate. She looks after all of the office functions of the church and collaborates with Julian on writing grant funding proposals on behalf of the church community.

Chrissy is our Ministry Associate with responsibility for Children’s Ministry. On Sunday evenings she provides educational and recreational opportunities for the children of the church.

Terry is the Ministry Associate at The University Church with oversight of the building and grounds. It is Terry who ensures that the facilities are cared for and looked after. He is much involved in hospitality in the building and is often found making coffee and preparing cookies for church events.

Matt is Worship Arts Associate at The University Church. He leads our praise team, sings and plays guitar, and lends his talents in two-dimensional art to the life of the church.
